Thaplamu Pier – Khao Lak
Manta Queen 2 skips the Similan Islands and dives only the more advanced northern dive sites. The marine ecology in this northern area is amazing, colourful schools of fish, coral reefs, and endangered species that welcome divers like the Whale Sharks or Manta Rays. Look out for such photogenic little critters as ghost pipefish, sea moths, frogfish, ribbon eels and many different nudibranchs. Koh Bon and Koh Koh Tachai, members of the Similan Marine Park, are first visited en-route to the farthest and world-famous dive site of Richelieu Rock in the Surin National Marine Park.
Whatever your scuba diving pleasure might be, the Similan and Surin Marine Parks are the dive destinations that will satisfy your desires and give you the trip of a lifetime.

Amazing staff, great food, good boat, and fantastic dive sites. Don’t hesitate, book!
Manta Queen 2: Dive guides and the Thai boat staff were amazing. Estaban, Monja, Dave, Johnny and Leonard made use feel at home and helped us improve our diving skills dramatically. The food the delicious and we had a lot of fun playing games with the boat boys. We had a great experience and plan on coming back sooner rather than later.
I’m traveling alone and I booked randomly a liveaboard for the 3 best dive sites of the area (KOH BON – KOH TACHAI – RICHELIEU ROCK) and Manta Queen 2 offered that in a short time… I didn’t know what to expect from this trip and I had a highlight of my travel. An amazing dive staff (Esteban, Monja, Chloé, Chris and Golf), a perfect boat crew (food, equipment, cleaning, etc) and I met a really nice Team of fun divers. We All had one of our best dives in our live on Koh Tachai and we had the chance to meet 2 whale sharks, a manta ray, schools of barracudas, napoleon fish and so on… All the divers, staff included cam out of the water with such a great smile it made us forget the bad visibility of Richelieu Rock.
I can only recommend to dive with them
Booked the Manta Queen 2 from Jan 16 to 19. Weather is just perfect and warm but the staff are even warmer. Miki was my guide the whole trip. Took care of everyone on her group and super familiar with the every dive site. With her I saw a manta, giant size cuttlefish and Moray eel, and a group of 50+(!) blue-spotted stingrays. Boat crew fed us four meals everyday. Overall highly satisfied and would recommend to all divers.
This is a great, well run operation that will take you (safely!) to some beautiful and diverse dive sites off the coast of Phuket. Truly the best way to see an abundance of ocean life in this area is to stay on a live aboard boat. We stayed aboard the Manta Queen 2, and the entire staff was great. Knew the area and wildlife very well, and the guides spoke at least 7 languages between them.
To be honest the boat itself is good for it’s purpose and the price, but it’s not one is the more fancy, tricked out boats with all the whistles that you could find. It’s clean and modest and great for what we needed. The best part is the staff. Leader Esteban was great and cook P’Tip made delicious food in a tiny kitchen.
Several people on board got additional certifications (AOW, EANx) which the instructors can help you with.
Went with 6 friends, highly recommend for an easy, fun trip!
