Brilliant trip overall and I’m delighted I made the decision to commit to the booking (my first scuba dive/trip following open water certification).
We did a 4night 4day liveaboard on the Manta Queen 5. Trip ran very smoothly with SUPER helpful Thai staff and very delicious and nutritious food made fresh by our on board cook! We had a great instructor, Phillipp, who was very patient with our group as we completed our Advanced Open Water certification. The dive sites were amazing even though we did not get to see any big fish. Would definitely do a liveaboard with this crew again!
These guys run several different boats to cater for all different budgets. I travelled solo on the Manta Queen 5 and was made to feel at home straight away by the staff and other customers.
The boat was simple but had everything you needed, for me to live simply for a few days on a trip like this is better than having all the added luxuries!
Meals were great and plentiful, all dive briefs were done brilliantly by trip leader Davey. All the guides, Tom, Dave, Ethan, Phillip and Bart were awesome during the dives and socially as well.
Everything is made easy with guys and you’re guaranteed a great dive trip around the amazing Similan Islands with them
I have had one of the best vacations of my life and most of it due to Khao Lak Scuba Adventures.
The staff of Manta Queen I made sure everything was flawless onboard and were attentive 100% of the time, ensuring we were always safe, fed, happy and everything . else.
First I must highlight it was the first time I was placed in an experienced scuba divers group as myself and that made all the difference. Xavier, our director and host, made sure to match equivalent divers and I have to say he was just perfect! We all breathed similarly and if you are a scuba diver, you know how important it is.
On the boat, the briefings he gave were the best I’ve ever seen, He would make sure all the safety information was present and repeated, but in a light way, without pratronizing or scaring us. He was fun, light, serious, empathic, I became a fan 🙂
Now, the really special part: It was my b-day and Xavier and the crew threw a surprise party for me with a cake and a gift!!! My scuba group also did a party underwater. I was so happy to be able to celebrate my B-day even though I was away from my family! I could see he made an effort for it to be really special.
Ethan, this sweet and smiley member of the crew, remembered the T-shirt I had liked at the shop and gave me one! What a kind soul!
The lady who was the chef was also wonderful. She made sure that I had special meals (I’m a pescatarian, but there was no fish at the boat) and That I had everything I needed, Ethan was also always keeping an eye on it!
And, last but not least, Tik, our super hero special guide. One of the sweetest people I’ve met… His knowledge and respect for the ocean melted my heart. We were so lucky to have him! He could spot any marine life miles away… Not only that, he also gave me an underwater birthday card. I have officially joined his fan club….
Well, I’m coming back to Manta I as soon as I can!! I felt home and can’t wait to have this experience again! Thanks, Xavier! Thanks, Crew!!
We were in the Manta Queen 5 for 3 days. Everything was outstanding: the master divers, the thai crew, the food… We were very happy in all aspects of the trip. Special mention to Daniel, who was with us in most of our dives and had a lot patience ;), but also to Kate, Noon, Rae and Yan who always did whatever possible (and almost the impossible) to make our experience the best! Kate, you’re a great MC. Noon, you saved our lives with the transfer 🙂 We would repeat, no doubt, and strongly recommend them.
