Rescue Diver

0

The PADI Rescue Diver course focuses on safety in scuba diving and rescue skills, It also expands on the safety skills you have already learned and how to prevent problems, along with managing them if they occur, moreover it’s a lot of fun as well. Most divers find this course both demanding and rewarding, and at the end, say: it’s the best course they’ve ever taken. When you first arrive in the morning you will be greeted by your instructor and taken into one of our air conditioned classrooms to watch the PADI rescue diver video. Whilst doing this you can complete your multiple choice knowledge reviews, just like you have done for your open water and advanced open water courses. Once this is completed it is the perfect time to break for lunch. After lunch its time to get wet! You will set up your gear and jump into our purpose built SCUBA training pool for your confined water session. During this you will first watch your instructor’s impeccable demonstration of each skill you need to complete. You will start of by learning about self rescue and then progress through how to manage stress and panic in other divers both on the surface and underwater. You will finish with learning how to deal with unresponsive divers both on the surface and underwater. For each scenario that is presented to you, you will be shown a number of different techniques on how to deal with what’s in front of you.

The open water portion of the course doesn’t introduce you to any new skills, aside from how to respond to emergency scenarios from a boat. The main difference is that the scenarios you are presented with will be in a more realistic setting and you may not always be warned when problems are about to occur, so stay on your toes! Whilst you’re on the boat you will also be taught how to set up an oxygen delivery system and choose the correct apparatus to use by assessing the “patient’s” condition.

Prerequisites:
• Be 12 years or older
• Have a PADI Adventure Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)
• Be trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years (ask us about Emergency First Response CPR and first aid courses)
